What are skin boosters?
Skin boosters are injected finely into the dermis or shallow fat layer to improve the quality of the skin itself, step by step.
They aim to improve hydration, firmness, texture, fine lines, pores and acne scars.
Unlike volumizing hyaluronic acid fillers, they are not mainly used to shape contours or add volume.
At ECLAT CLINIC OMIYA, we suggest the right product and method for your skin, the area and how much downtime you can accept, from several products and from hand injection by the doctor or the Hycoox injector.
What they can do
- Hydrated, glowing skin. Non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid, PN (polynucleotides) and amino acids reduce dryness for smoother skin.
- Fewer fine lines and more firmness. The right product supports the environment for collagen and elastin. Changes appear gradually, for a natural result.
- Smoother pores and acne scars. Mainly collagen-stimulating products such as Juvelook, sometimes combined with subcision or laser.
How much change, how many sessions and how long it lasts vary from person to person.
Who they are for
- Your skin feels dry or lacks firmness and glow
- You are bothered by uneven texture or fine lines
- You want to refine open pores or acne scars
- You want natural skin improvement without changing your shape
- You want the doctor to choose a product for you
- You want to know the difference between hand injection and the Hycoox injector
The products we use
- Rejuran: a skin booster based on salmon-derived PN (polynucleotides). We use Rejuran Healer for the full face and both cheeks, Rejuran i for the eye area, and Rejuran HB, which contains hyaluronic acid and an anesthetic. Suits dryness, loss of firmness, fine lines around the eyes and thin skin. Usually 3 sessions 2–4 weeks apart, then maintenance.
- Pluryal Densify: combines PN, non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid and mannitol. Suits dryness, loss of firmness, glow, texture, redness, uneven tone and overall skin quality. Usually 3 sessions 2–4 weeks apart.
- Sunekos Performa: non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid with 6 amino acids. Improves skin quality without adding much volume, and can be used on thin skin around the eyes and on the neck. Usually 3–4 sessions 2–4 weeks apart.
- Jalupro Super Hydro: high- and low-molecular-weight non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid with 7 amino acids and 3 peptides. Designed to support the facial ligaments and deeper connective tissue, with a different purpose from contouring fillers. Injected by the doctor by hand. Usually 2–3 sessions a month apart.
- SKINVIVE (formerly Volite XC): hyaluronic acid injected into the skin to improve skin quality. Suits you if you value hydration and texture over collagen stimulation. Results are said to last about 6–9 months.
- Juvelook: a collagen-stimulating booster combining PDLLA (poly-DL-lactic acid) and non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid. If the layer or concentration is not right, there is a risk of hardening or lumps, so the doctor decides the area and method. Suits pores, acne scar indentations, fine lines and loss of firmness. Usually 3 sessions a month apart.
- BNAJU (Re2O): a skin booster using human-derived acellular dermal matrix (hADM) that supplies the ECM (extracellular matrix) that supports firmness and elasticity. We combine 150 mg of BNAJU with non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid and an anesthetic, injected by hand or with the Hycoox injector. Because it contains human-derived material, we explain the risks at your consultation.
- HILO WAVE: a Dual-HA skin booster combining high- and low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid, with 48 mg of hyaluronic acid in each 2.0 mL syringe. Spread over a wide area to refine skin quality and natural contours. The doctor injects it with a cannula. The manufacturer suggests treatment every 3 months.
Choosing your skin booster
- Dryness and glow: SKINVIVE, Pluryal Densify, Rejuran HB, HILO WAVE and others
- Around the eyes and thin skin: Rejuran i, Sunekos Performa and others
- Pores and indentations: mainly Juvelook, sometimes combined with Dermapen or Pico Fractional
- Firmness and slackness: Jalupro Super Hydro, Pluryal Densify, Juvelook, BNAJU and others, depending on whether you want to focus on surface skin quality or deeper support
Hand injection or the Hycoox injector?
“Skin booster” refers to the products and treatment. The Hycoox is a device that injects a set depth and amount.
- Hand injection by the doctor: easier to adjust the amount and depth for each area, but can mean more injections and more bruising.
- Hycoox injector: makes it easier to inject evenly across the whole face. The result depends on the product and settings.
Neither is better in every case. We choose based on the product, area and how much pain and bruising you can accept.
The procedure
- Cleansing and skin check. We remove makeup and check dryness, pores, fine lines, acne scars and redness.
- Doctor’s examination and product choice. The doctor confirms suitability and decides the product, amount, method and number of sessions.
- Anesthesia and treatment.Anesthesia if needed, then injection by hand or with the Hycoox injector.
- Aftercare. We check for redness, swelling and bruising and explain what to do on the day.
