What is Botox?
Botox injections temporarily weaken the signals that make muscles move, softening expression lines and muscle bulk.
They also act on the signals that trigger sweating, so they are used for underarm sweating too. Because they are given with a fine needle and no incision, they have little effect on daily life.
Botox Vista®, which we use, is approved in Japan for expression lines such as frown lines and crow’s feet.
At ECLAT CLINIC OMIYA, we use ultra-fine 34G needles and our own injection technique to keep pain, bleeding and swelling as low as possible. The doctor decides the injection points, depth and dose based on your expressions and muscles.
What it can do
- Softer lines on the forehead, between the brows and at the eyes. It relaxes the muscles that create lines when you raise your brows, frown or smile.
- A slimmer jaw. It relaxes the jaw muscle (masseter) that bulges when you clench. As the muscle gradually shrinks, the face looks slimmer. It also eases the strain of clenching.
- A more natural chin and mouth. It adjusts a dimpled chin, a downturned mouth and a gummy smile. Small doses change expressions around the mouth, so we inject in fine amounts.
- Shoulders, calves and underarm sweating. It relaxes tense shoulder and calf muscles, and reduces underarm sweat.
Effects and how long they last vary from person to person.
Who it is for
- Botox at another clinic was painful
- You are bothered by lines when you smile or frown
- You want to prevent lines while keeping natural expressions
- You want a slimmer jaw
- You want to smooth a dimpled chin or adjust movements around the mouth
- You want to relax shoulder or calf muscles
- You want less underarm sweat
The products we use
- Botox Vista® (AbbVie): a botulinum toxin type A product. In Japan it is approved for frown lines, crow’s feet and a prominent masseter muscle in adults under 65. The approved dose and injection points differ by area.
- Botulax® (HUGEL, Korea): a botulinum toxin type A product. According to HUGEL, it is used for frown lines and crow’s feet, among others.
We use these for the forehead, between the brows, crow’s feet, jaw, chin, shoulders, calves, underarm sweating, Micro Botox and more.
Botox is not a treatment that removes muscle. It relaxes overly strong movement for a period of time.
Botox at ECLAT
- 34G ultra-fine needles for every area, at no extra cost. Finer needles put less stress on the skin and help reduce pain, bleeding and bruising.
- Our own injection technique. We change the angle, pressure and speed for each area, and inject most carefully where pain is felt most. We place the product accurately without repeated needle sticks. We also adjust how the powder is mixed for each product and area.
- Designed for your expressions and muscles. We divide injection points based on how you move and how thick your muscles feel, and adjust depth and dose for thick and thin areas and for asymmetry. We separate the muscles to relax from the movement to keep.
Points by area
- Forehead, frown lines and crow’s feet: too much in the lower forehead can make the brows or eyelids feel heavy. We check whether you use your forehead to open your eyes and any asymmetry in brow height, and use a dose that keeps your expressions.
- Jaw: if fat, sagging or bone width is the main cause, Botox alone will not change your outline enough. We feel the muscle’s position and thickness, and use less for faces that hollow easily.
- Shoulders and calves: larger muscles need doses matched to your build. Weakening them too much can cause heaviness or difficulty moving, so we check your movement as we inject.
- Underarm sweating: we map the sweaty area and inject finely and evenly into the shallow layers of skin.
Choosing your Botox
- Botox Vista® or Botulax®? Both are botulinum toxin type A, but their units are measured differently. Botox Vista® suits you if you prefer an approved product. Botulax® suits you if you want to combine several areas or continue regularly. Units cannot be compared directly, so the doctor decides the product and dose for your goal.
- Standard Botox or Micro Botox? Standard Botox goes into the muscle to relax strong movement. Micro Botox is injected finely into shallow layers of the skin to refine pores, oil, fine crepey lines and firmness, without freezing your expressions.
- What Botox alone cannot do. Deep lines that remain at rest look better when Botox is combined with hyaluronic acid or skin treatments. Botox does not change hollows, sagging, fat or bone structure, so we combine it with tightening or fat treatments where needed.
How often
- When it works: you start to notice it in a few days to a week, and it settles in 1–2 weeks.
- Jaw, shoulders and calves: visible change appears slowly, from around a month.
- How long it lasts: about 3–4 months for expression lines.
- Next treatment: as a rule, at least 3 months apart for the same area.
The procedure
- Doctor’s examination. We check your face at rest and when you raise your brows, frown, smile and clench, and judge whether Botox suits you from the strength, thickness and asymmetry of your muscles.
- Photos and marking. We take photos and mark the injection points if needed, including where to keep movement and where to avoid.
- Injection. With 34G needles and our technique, matched to your muscle thickness and goal.
- Check. We check for bleeding and swelling. Most people return to normal activities straight away.

FAQ
Does it hurt?
There is some injection pain, but we keep it as low as possible with 34G needles and our technique.
Is there downtime?
Redness, swelling or bruising at the needle points may appear, usually settling in a few days to 2 weeks.
When does it work, and how long does it last?
You start to notice it in a few days to a week. For expression lines it lasts about 3–4 months. It varies by area, dose and number of treatments.
Will my expressions look unnatural?
The wrong points or dose can make expressions look stiff. For first-timers and people who want a natural change, we may suggest a conservative plan.
Does it stop working if I repeat it?
Large doses at short intervals can lead to antibodies that make it less effective. As a rule, we leave at least 3 months between treatments of the same area and use only the dose you need.
